MSC Names New Oscar-Class Giant in Le Havre

Swiss-based container carrier Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) christened the latest in a series of twenty 19,224teu container vessels, MSC Sveva, during a ceremony held at the Port of Le Havre, France, on July 20.
The 199,272dwt MSC SVEVA belongs to an Oscar-class of container ships which feature a length of 395.45 meters and a width of 59.08 meters, and are one of the largest sea-going vessels in the world.
MSC SVEVA will be deployed on the Asia – Europe route, according to Haropa Ports, the operator of the Port of Le Havre.
