Secondhand Price Slid in Early September

The domestic secondhand trading volume witnessed slight fall in September. Totally 51 vessels were changed hands with a tonnage of 91,067 dwt and transaction amount of $67m. 

Secondhand bulker price underwent mixed conditions. 5,000-dwt bulk carrier price rose against strong demand while prices for other bulker types fell for different degrees. Bulker S&P activities slowed down for the capacity oversupply and sluggish economic future with totally 35 vessels traded.

Secondhand tankers also lost value in this period due to the sluggish oil trading market. However, price for product carriers was relatively stable.

In early September, secondhand containership price slid with no transaction recorded. Three MPVs changed hands in the period.
