Aurora Adds Two VLGCs, Expects Third Soon
Norway-based liquid petroleum gas transporter Aurora LPG Holding ASA has received two very large gas carriers (VLGCs) Aurora Balder and Aurora Njord, according to a stock filing.
Featuring a capacity of 84,000 cbm, the new vessels were built and delivered by South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI).
What's more, the company expects the third newbuilding VLGC Aurora Var to join its fleet on March 31.
Aurora LPG has three more 84,000 cbm newbuilds scheduled for delivery from the same shipyard during 2016.
The company, which owns and operates a fleet of gas carriers, secured a US$200m loan in January to support its newbuilding program at HHI.
With the two deliveries, Aurora LPG now has a fleet of five vessels, three of which are 82,000cbm VLGCs delivered in 2008 and 2009.
