Three Newbuilds Join Wisdom Marine's Fleet

Taiwan-listed shipping company Wisdom Marine Group has added three newbuild bulk carriers to its fleet, two of 34,000 dwt and one of 84,000 dwt.

The 34,000dwt bulkers, named Daiwan Justice and Daiwan Kalon, were built by Japanese shipyard Namura Shipbuilding.

Featuring a weight of 21,500 tons, the Handymax vessels joined Wisdom Marine's fleet on March 7 and 14, respectively. Both vessels are sailing under the flag

of Panama.

The third addition to Wisom Marine's fleet is the 84,000dwt Panamax bulk carrier Sakizaya Glory, which joined the company on March 15.

The Panama-flagged bulker features a gross tonnage of 43,000 tons and was built by Japan's Imabari Shipbuilding.

The announcement on the back of Wisdom Marine's venturing into the LPG sector with the latest decision to buy a 6,400dwt LPG carrier.

Taipei-based Wisdom Marine currently owns and operates a fleet of 110 dry bulk carriers, with 24 vessels on order, data on the company's website show.

In 2015, the company posted a net income of US$70.8m, an increase of 19 percent compared with a year earlier.

Wisdom Marine's revenue for 2015 stood at US$346.9m, up by 16 percent year on year.
