Maersk Drilling has inked a contract with Malaysia's Petronas Carigali to provide a 375 feet HPHT (high pressure high temperature) jack-up rig for offshore works in Malaysian waters.
The maximum contract value for the one-year period is approximately $51m including mobilization fee, according to Maersk Drilling. The contract includes two one-year options.
The jack-up rig Maersk Convincer is expected to commence in the fourth-quarter of this year.
“We see this contract as a good opportunity to demonstrate our skills within HPHT drilling and we hope it can pave the way for strengthening our position in the flourishing Malaysian market,” said Claus V. Hemmingsen, ceo of Maersk Drilling.
