Brokers report that India's Varun Shipping has got its 2006-built Ocean Mare on seller's subjects to Eurotankers for US$27m. Eurotankers is run by Greek national, Michael Gotsis.

The price sees a big drop from the last 2006-built aframax to be sold, Elia, which went for US$33m last October.

"Whilst the drop in value can be explained in the most part by the current oversupply of candidates in the market, it is also worth noting that the vessel is being sold with surveys due imminently and this may have negatively impacted the price," Clarkson Platou noted in a weekly report.
