Nordana Sea Joins Symphony Shipping's Fleet
Dutch shipbuilder Ferus Smit delivered a 10,550dwt multi-purpose cargo carrier Nordana Sea to its compatriot shipping company Symphony Shipping on Feb. 11.
Nordana Sea, the third unit in a series of six newbuilds of Ferus Smit's DP2 Ecobox design, departed the shipyard on its maiden voyage to Esbjerg, Denmark, where it will pick up windmill components and transport them to Greece.
Featuring a length of some 122 meters and a width of 17 meters, the vessel has a single hold of box shaped form and a loading floor area for project cargoes, including complete movable tweendeck.
Nordana Sea is also equipped with two 85-ton cargo cranes and a deckhouse, which is placed on the foreship for better protection of deck cargo and enabling the ship to load oversized items over the stern.
