STX Cuts Steel for Shell's New LNG Bunker Vessel

South Korea-based STX Offshore & Shipbuilding commenced the construction of Shell Western LNG B.V.'s new LNG bunker vessel with a steel cutting ceremony on Dec. 4.

The LNG bunker vessel will be based at the port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands, and will load from the new LNG break bulk terminal currently under construction by the Gas Access to Europe terminal.

This seagoing vessel, with a capacity of 6,500 cubic metres of LNG fuel, will be capable of delivering to LNG-fuelled vessels in northwest Europe and at other locations as well.
