Taiwanese shipping company Evergreen is ordering ten 2,800teu container vessels from Japanese shipyard Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd and compatriot CSBC Corporation.

Under the deal, the company will order five container vessels at Imabari, assigning up to US$195m for the quintet, announced Evergreen in a stock exchange filing.

The other five 2,800teu will be ordered at CSBC Corporation for US$36-39m per vessel, putting the overall deal price at up to US$390m, according to Evergreen.

Evergreen's latest ordering spree comes following an agreement with compatriot CSBC Corporation to build ten 2,800teu, class B-type feeder ships this August.
