Delta Marine Carriers, a very low profile firm based in Monaco and whose core business is managing ships owned by several foreign owners, is refocusing its activity in dry bulk.

The company's President Nico Poons says that the only exciting plans of Delta in the coming 12 months are "selling older tonnage and taking delivery of two ultramax newbuildings".

The company's fleet is currently made up of one capesize and two handysize bulk carriers but a further six 63,000dwt ultramax units were ordered in mid-2014 at the Chinese shipbuilders Sinopacific Yangzhou Dayang and CSC Jinling Shipbuilding and are set for delivery from 2016 onwards.
