Analyzation is that shipbuilding industry expects increasing newbuilding orders of offshore production facilities, which will be one of top profit generators when market recovers.
Researcher Choi Kwant-Sik, LIG Investment & Securities said, "Despite such concerns for new orders in H2, no need to worry about uncertainties of commercial ships' order."
He expected that new order of offshore production facilities would lead in H2 than that of commercial ships.
Choi emphasized, "Offshore facilities win steady newbuilding order, irrelevant to macro economic environment. Also, projects scheduled in the second half of this year are now in discussion"
Analyst Huh Sung-Deok from Hi Investment & Securities said, "Newbuilding orders for offshore facilities are forecast to be placed from Egina mine of Nigeria, Ichthys mine of Australia, Malaysia's Petronas, Papua New Guinea. In times of lower price tag, booking new orders of offshore production facilities, such as FPSO, LNG-FPSO, etc., is more preferable than signing additional orders of commercial ships.
