Samsung Wins LNG Carriers
Greece's GasLog is said to have bumped up its LNG-newbuilding order tally to eight with a pair of ships.
Industry sources say GasLog has firmed up two more 155,000-cbm newbuildings at Samsung Heavy Industries.
If the report is true, Samsung won around 18 LNG carrier orders to date this year.
Brokers add that there is an initial agreement with energy major Shell on at least two of the vessels. BG Group and Chevron have also been named as possible charterers.
The Peter Livanos-backed company has been slowly inching up its newbuilding tally at Samsung this year.
GasLog started the New Year with two seemingly uncommitted vessels contracted at the South Korean yard. The tri-fuelled ships, contracted in May 2010, are due for delivery in 2013.
In April, the company said it had confirmed a further pair of LNG carriers.
