Malaysia-based Nam Cheong has secured new contracts worth RM41.4m ($13.8m) for the sale and charter of a 5,220 bhp AHTS vessel.
The Singapore-listed shipbuilder of offshore supply vessels announced on Friday the deal with Omni Marissa (L) Inc., a Malaysian offshore marine firm specialising in various logistics, oil and gas services.
This deal closely follows a previous announcement on 26 July when Nam Cheong won three contracts to build three 5,150 bhp AHTS vessels for Sentinel Marine.
The construction of the newly-sold 5,220 bhp AHTS vessel is near completion as the vessel is being built as part of Nam Cheong's built-to-stock series at a subcontracted Chinese yard.
The latest contract brings Nam Cheong's orderbook to 11 vessels with a total contract value of about RM590m.
