China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.(CMHI) secured an order of 1+2 multipurpose diving and construction support vessels from Singapore-based ship owner Ultra Deep Solutions（UDS）, according to a domestic shipping news portal.

The first vessel is scheduled to be delivered in mid-2017. The other two  options will be handed over at the end of 2017 and in mid-2018 respectively.

CMHI has signed a design contract with Norway-based ship designer Marin Teknikk.

Each of the newbuildings will adopt MT6023 type design, with 111m in length and 23m in width.

Each of them can operate as deep as 3,000m underwater, the report added.
