MES Delivers Bulker to Lazio Shipping

Japanese shipyard Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding (MES) handed over a 56,000dwt bulker MV Desert Osprey to Marshall Islands-based Lazio Shipping and Investment in a ceremony held at its Chiba Works March 31, 2015.

This is the 9th ship of the shipbuilder's "neo56BC" eco-ship design, capable of accommodating up to 24 persons and sailing at the speed of up to 14.4 knots.

The Desert Osprey features 190m in length, 32.25m in breadth, and 18.1m in depth.

The bulker is classed by ABS, and is designed in accordance with IACS Common Structural Rules.
