China's yard Jiangsu Dajin Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. has completed the country’s first pure LNG-fuelled inland bulker and delivered it to Shanghai-based LNG Power Shipping Co., Ltd. on March 18, according to a shipping news report.

Compared with conventional bulkers, the said bulk carrier can reduce 25 percent carbon dioxide emissions and 90 percent nitrogen oxide emissions.

The said bulk carrier is the first in a series of 200 units ordered by LNG Power Shipping. The company invested a total of RMB650m in these vessels.
