In 2014, China's Jiangsu Province led the national shipbuilding again in terms of the three major indicators of shipbuilding completions, new orders and handheld orders, reported a domestic news report.

Jiangsu's shipbuilding completions stood at 12.385 million dwt last year, accounting for 31.7 percent of the national total and 13.2 percent of the world's total.

The province's new orders reached 22.023 million dwt, occupying 36.7 percent of the national total and 18.5 percent of the world's total.

In addition, Jiangsu recorded 69.812 million dwt in handheld order during the same period, which represented 46.9 percent of the national market and 22.1 percent of the global market.
