Four container lines to start new PMX service
Four Asia-based container lines have teamed up to launch a joint service in China/Southeast Asia-Indian Subcontinent trade named Pakistan Mundra Express (PMX).
Cosco Container Lines Southeast Asia (Coscon Sea), China Shipping Container Lines (CSCL) and Wan Hai Lines will start the service from Shanghai on 25 June whereas Pacific International Lines (PIL) will commence one cycle later on 6 August.
The service PMX will be operated with six vessels of 4,250 teu capacity each with Coscon Sea and Wan Hai to provide two ships each, and CSCL and PIL to deploy one ship each.
The weekly port rotation is Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Hong Kong, Singapore, Port Klang (N), Port Klang (W), Karachi, Mundra, Port Klang (N), Singapore, Hong Kong, and back to Shanghai.
“The service will provide our customers with faster transit time from China/Southeast Asia to Pakistan/India,” PIL said in a statement.
