Lauritzen Bulkers has ordered two handysize bulk carriers at Namura Shipbuilding, due for delivery in 2017.
The contract for the latest pair of 34,000 dwt eco vessels was signed at a ceremony in Copenhagen on 10 June.
"The newbuilding contract not only confirms our strategy to maintain and develop our solid position in the handysize segment but also our very strong relations with Namura Shipbuilding and Hakodate Docks", commented Peter Borup, president of Lauritzen Bulkers.
The handymax pair follows an order made in June for six supramaxes at another Japanese yard, Imabari Shipyard. The 63,000 dwt ships are also due for delivery in 2017.
