Scorpio Bulkers has added five capesizes for $306m to its ever growing list of newbuildings and chartered-in seven vessels.

Still less than a year old Scorpio Bulkers has increased its newbuilding book to 79 vessels, purchasing four capesizes under construction at Deahan Shipbuilding and due to be delivered between the second and fourth quarters of 2015, and ordered one further capesize at Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering.

The company has also added to its chartered-in fleet with seven vessels comprising a post-panamax, two kamsarmaxes, two panamaxes, a supramax and a handymax. Scorpio Bulkers now has a chartered-in fleet of 17 vessels.
