Malaysia-based Jasa Merin has sold another offshore vessel in an ongoing move to renew its fleet.

The subsidiary of Silk Holdings announced on Thursday the sale of a 2006-built, 5,444 bhp anchor handling vessel JM Damai for a price of MYR25.36m ($7.93m).

“The sales proceed will be partially utilised to fully retire the remaining loan on the vessel of MYR6.7m with the balance retained for working capital purposes,” Kuala Lumpur-listed Silk Holdings said.

Last week, Jasa Merin sold a 2004-built, 4,600-bhp straight supply vessel for $5.93m.

“The sale is part of Jasa Merin's continuous ongoing fleet renewal and replacement programme in the ordinary course of its business,” Silk Holdings added.
