Samsung Heavy Industries’ Ningbo corporate in China, Samsung Heavy Industries (Ningbo) Co., was awarded a further contract to build two MR tankers from Greek shipowner Capital Maritime & Trading, TradeWinds reported.

After penning a newbuilding contract with Ningbo for 4+4 units of 52,000 dwt MR PC in May this year, Capital exercised two options in September and the latest one is regarding the rest two.

The recently exercised two newbuildings are slated for delivery till the second half of 2016 while the first six units are to be delivered from the first quarter of 2015 to the corresponding quarter of next year in order.

In addition, the last two options are known to be costing a bit pricier than previously inked newbuildings in line with uptrend in newbuilding prices.
