HHI inked 83 new ships
Hyundai Heavy Industries announced on December 16 that it had achieved $25.759bn new orders in this year to November, up by 41% from the corresponding period a year ago.
By division, Shipbuilding Division saw a 66% year-on-year increase with $9.131bn new orders, achieving 118% of its previously planned $7.75bn.
As of November, 2013, accumulated new orders totaled 83 units including 27 containerships, 19 LPG carriers, 11 bulkers, 11 tankers, eight LNG carriers, four special ships, two others and one semi-submersible rig.
During November, the Ulsan-based builder additionally inked around $1.3bn new orders for five LPG carriers, two bulkers, four tankers, two LNG carriers and so on.
Offshore & Engineering Division experienced a sharp year-on-year increase of 293% with putting pens on $6.45bn orders for the 11 months, achieving 108% of its yearly target, $6bn.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries scored new contracts worth $4.969bn in this year to November.
