Hanjin inks $301m vessels

Hanjin Heavy Industries & Construction was awarded contracts to build around KRW 320bn ($301m) worth of two bulkers, one naval ship and etc. on November 27.

The Korean shipbuilder announced through a regulatory filing on the same day that it had entered into a newbuilding agreement with STX Pan Ocean for two bulkers worth KRW 103.7bn. This contract value corresponds to 4.07% of recent revenue and delivery is planned by December 31, 2016. The value is equivalent to around $97.80m in total, or $48.90m apiece.

In addition, Hanjin released a regulatory filing on November 27 that the builder had signed a contract with Defense Acquisition Program Administration to build the navy's second Salvage and Rescue Ship (ATS-Ⅱ) worth around KRW 120bn. The contract value is equivalent to 4.71% of recent revenue and delivery is planned by September 30, 2016.
