Huangpu inks 1st overseas BC
CSSC Guangzhou Huangpu Shipbuilding is said to have entered into a newbuilding contract for four 64,000 dwt bulkers with KC MARITIME of India on November 28.
This newbuilding agreement is the first order of Huangpu inked with overseas owner and the Chinese builder is said to keep pushing ahead with advancing into overseas market further ahead.
According to CSSC Shipping (Hong Kong), the 64,000 dwt newbuilding contract is the first order Huangpu awarded from KC MARITIME and the four newbuilds are slated for delivery to KC MARITIME-affiliated MAYA NAVIGATION LIMITED, RANI NAVIGATION LIMITED, GOPI SHIPPING LIMITED and NOOR SHIPPING LIMITED, respectively.
The latest awarded bulker size is an optimized vessel of Huangpu’s previously-built 57,000 dwt bulker, having 199.90m of height, 32.26m of breadth with 18.50m of height. Classed by Lloyd’s Register, it has 11.3m of design draft with 14.4 knots of speed.
The newbuilding is reportedly an economical Supramax bulker boasting greatly improved main functions and indexes from existing vessels as an energy-saving and eco-friendly ship.
