China's COSCO Shipyard Group-affiliated COSCO (Dalian) Shipyard's contract signed with Deepwater to build jack-up drilling platform "LeTourneau Super 116E Jack Up" has been officially taken effect.

The platform will be fabricated on the base of "LeTourneau Super 116E" design, which is 70.09m in length, 62.8m in breadth and 7.92m in height. The Jack-up is capable of operating in water depths up to 350 feet and drilling to depths of 30,000 feet.

Also, around 120 staffs are affordable and the platform will be classed by ABS.

The Jack-up drilling platform, the third Jack-up platform contracted by COSCO Dalian this year after having signed up for Foresight 1 and Foresight 2, will start construction next year with delivery due in the third quarter of 2015.
