Hyundai Heavy Industries was chosen as a preferred bidder for 'Exploratory Development Plan of Naval Training Ship' of Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) of Korea.
DAPA announced on August 1 that the governmental institution had selected Hyundai as a priority negotiator after evaluating proposals of recommended companies. DAPA plans to sign a contract in September with the compatriot builder after going through discussion of technologies, terms and pricing.
'Exploratory Development Plan of Naval Training Ship' is aimed at securing a naval training ship featured with scientific educational training system and facilities, constructed by a domestic builder from 2013 to 2019 to conduct educational training more stably towards advanced weapon system.
