KASC Inks Handy Bulkers

China’s Taizhou Kouan Shipbuilding (KASC) inked an order for two bulkers with an overseas shipowner.
KASC announced that the builder signed a newbuilding agreement to take effect for two 39,000 dwt bulkers on July 10.
CEO Wang Junze of KASC and president from the owner attended the ceremony to sign the contract. Also, a representative from the Export-Import Bank of China attended to confirm that the contract took effective since the state-owned financial institution provides a ship financing upon the contract.
The two new bulkers are slated for delivery in March and May, 2015, respectively, having 179.9m of length, 30m of breadth with 14.8m of height and 9.5m of draft. The vessels are to be classified by Lloyd's Register (LR).
