Dae Sun Shipbuilding and Engineering Co., Ltd. (Dae Sun) located in Busan, Korea inked a newbuilding contract with Dong Jin Shipping Co., Ltd, Korea for 1,000 TEU feeder container carrier, one of the most renowned products of the shipyard, on July 11th. This newly contracted vessel is scheduled to be delivered in August 2015.
In view of this contract, standing in succession are contracts for two (2) DWT 51,200 MR Class Chemical Tanker units and four (4) 1,000 TEU container ships, which confirm the fact that Dae Sun has been winning continuously new contracts despite depressed newbuilding market.
On 9th of July, Dae Sun delivered ‘NAVE CAPELLA’, the 6th MR product carrier of a series of seven vessels for Navios Maritime Holdings Inc., subsequent to the naming ceremony held on the same date. At the naming ceremony, the representative of Navios and 30 ship owners’ guests participated and celebrated the birth of ‘NAVE CAPELLA’, wishing her a safe voyage.
The newly delivered vessel demonstrated its consistent and stable production capacity as well as the highly quality characteristic of Dae Sun products by recording a cruising speed of 15.74 knots during her sea trials, thus exceeding the contract guaranteed speed.
