Korea Boosts Offshore Plant

Geoje, Korea, holds a policy seminar to revitalize shipbuilding and offshore plant industries at the city hall on July 22.
Led by Kim Han-Pyo, member of the National Assembly, Geoje and Korea Institute of Ocean Science & Technology (KIOST), the seminar is held not only to boost offshore plant industry but to develop the industry into the nation's strategic industry with the cooperation among the industry, academics and the government.  
At the seminar, Kang Sa-Joon, senior vice president of Korea Offshore & Shipbuilding Association will make a presentation under a title 'Strategies to develop offshore plant industry', while Lee Jong-Kap from KIOST will present under 'Establishment and management plan of support center for offshore plant industry' that citizens are expected to have a valuable time to know about offshore plant industry deeply.
The seminar is sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE), the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF), South Gyeongsang Province and the Geoje council. There will be panel discussions participated by Kim Yeong-Hun, professor of  Dept. of Naval Architecture, Ocean and Engineering at Kyungnam University, Choi Kyu-Jong from Shipbuilding & Plant Division at MOTIE, Kang Yong-Seok from MOF, Lee Kyu-Tae, chairman of Korea Association of Offshore Plant Enterprises, Lee Sung-Geun, senior executive vice president of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering,  Ha Moon-Geun, senior executive vice president of Samsung Heavy Industries, Dr. Ha Tae-Bum of Korean Register of Shipping, Shin Eun-Su, president of KHAN and so on.
