China’s Guangxin Shipbuilding & Heavy Industry (GSHI) is said to have signed a newbuilding contract with Republic of South Africa's Cape Town-based shipowner Marine Bulk Carriers (MBC) for a 78m class anchor handling tug supply (AHTS).
The newbuilding value stands at $30m, planned to be completed and delivered in 2015. After delivery, it will be operated in the sea of South Africa.
MBC is seeking a way to run a shipowning business, expanding its previous ship operating business as recent AHTS demand is rising in South Africa.
