China Exports $20bn Ships in First Six Months

According to Chinese custom house’s statistics, in the fist six months Chinese shipbuilders have exported ships worth near $20bn, increasing by 47.62%. Of the total, export ships in June came up to $3.34bn and gained 26.93% rise against the same period of last year.
Statistics show that in the first half year, Chinese shipyards imported ships worth $1.04bn, up 41.27% against last year’s volume of the same period.
The three main ship types -bulkers, tankers and boxships- occupied 81% the total volume. Especially bulker exports came in at $9.7bn, taking 50% of the total.
Zhejiang province-based shipyards exported $4.1bn ships, taking the lead nationally. Jiangsu and Shanghai yards follow behind.
