Jiangsu Province, one of the large shipbuilding complexes in China, is said to see a continued downturn in ship exports.
According to data released from the General Administration of Customs of Nanjing, a combined value of ship exports in Jiangsu Province in this year to April came to $2.58bn, showing a 36.3% decline comparing with the same time period of last year.
The province has experienced a continued downturn in ship exports, following the recession of the second half of last year. The figure of ship exports was seen with a slight rebound at $980m during full March however, it plummeted in April to $490m, showing falls of year-on-year 56% and month-on-month 49%.
