A newbuilding contract for what will be the world’s largest ever Moss type LNG carrier is set to be signed this week.
Japan’s K Line is to sign a contract for a 182,000-cbm Moss type LNG vessel with Kawasaki Heavy Industries on June 4th.
The ship is being ordered against a long-term contract with Japan’s Inpex and energy major Total.
It will be used to lift the 1.75 mtpa that Taiwanese state energy company CPC Corp is buying from Ichthys LNG project in Australia.
Meanwhile, K Line is also set to sign a newbuilding order with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries for a 152,000-cbm vessel that will be deployed into a long-term charter with Inpex.
