‘Offshore Technology Conference (OTC 2013)' is held from May 6 to 9 in Houston, the US, and on the first day, an opening ceremony for Korean pavilion was held, led by Korea Marine Equipment Association (KOMEA), with an attendance of Lee Kwan-Seob, director general for industrial policy of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of Korea.
Along with the Korean Consulate General Park Suk-Bum in Houston, the ceremony was attended by officials at Leading Industry development for Southeast Economic Region, the city of Ulsan, KOMEA and etc. and various representatives from fair participants, POSCO, PANASIA, HIFLY VALVE, DongHwa Entec, DMC, KHAN, Steel Flower and so on, widely broadcasting Korea brand power.
Lee Kwan-Seob said through a congratulatory message that, “I am very pleased that many of Korea’s excellent companies majoring in offshore plant are participated in OTC where the global offshore plant market’s development and trend can be both experienced at one place. I am respectful to every representatives, executives and staff who take part in OTC to give publicity of their products developed with continuous effort.” He promised that the ministry will put efforts together for the development of Korea’s offshore plant and shipbuilding industry along with marine equipment industry.
At OTC 2013, advances of Korea-based companies are shown to have remarkably expanded, for instance, alongside 10 companies at Korean pavilion, there are individual participants such as TMC, BMT, DK LOK, LS Cable & Systems and JS Cable as well as organizational participants, for instance, an offshore plant R&D booth supported by Leading Industry development for Southeast Economic Region, POSCO booth and etc. Particularly, Hyundai heavy Industries draws attention with its first booth of the fair to begin marketing.
