Korean feeder service player Heung-A Shipping has decided to add one 1,103-teu newbuilding containership on its orderbook with a call for shift in generations in preparation for ageing boxship fleet.
Heung-A, which booked an order for one 1,103-teu boxship at Kyokuyo Shipyard of Japan in March of this year, made a regulatory filing on May 3 that it added the same-type newbuildings at the same yard for $20m with delivery slated for August 2014.
The one 1,103-teu newbuilding is acquired in Bare Boat Charter with Hire Purchase (BBC-HP), which will seal the BBC-HP deal in May 8. Heung-A will be delivered the vessel by November 30, 2014.
