Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries is said to have inked an order for a pair of 9,000-teu containerships with International Maritime Enterprises.
Industry sources said both parties had already signed a letter of intent for two firm with an option for two more boxships earlier in April and recently they finalized the firm contract.
These firm two newbuildings are slated for delivery in 2014 and are said to cost around $81m apiece.
The Greek owner is believed to have placed the newbuilding order in speculation without a charter deal.
