CIMC Raffles Wins Jack-up
China’s Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore is said to have inked a letter of award (LOA) on April 23 with Sinopec Group of China for construction of a jack-up drilling platform, "Shengli 11”, to be operated in Shengli oil field, the second-largest oil field in China.
The LOA seems to be the first one after 2012 when CIMC Raffles and Sinopec Group signed an agreement for strategic cooperation.
The jack-up drilling platform series from "Shengli 1” to "Shengli 11” will be operated in Shengli oil field, in the water depths of up to 50 meters.
Particularly, the "Shengli 11” platform, 56m in length, 54m in width and 5.5m in height, will be designed and constructed in line with existing standards of Maritime Safety Administration of China and China Classification Society (CCS).
The platform is capable of working at water depths up to 50 meter with a maximum drilling depth of 7,000 meter.
Yantai CIMC Raffles is known as proceeding with working in cooperation with Sinopec Group for the "Shengli 11” platform again, following "Shengli 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 8”.
