Venezuelan oil company PDVSA is planning to add handysize LPG carriers on its fleet.
Sources said the state-owned company is eyeing on four handysize LPG carriers.
Brokers predicted PDVSA seems highly possibly to book newbuildings, since it is hard to find LPG tonnages in the range of 15,000-23,000 cbm in the current secondhand market.
They added, however, newbuilding handysize ethylene carriers cost about $50m apiece, which raises question of whether PDVSA will be able to raise cash for them.
