CMIH Wins Five Jackup's

China Merchants Industry Holdings (CMIH) has inked a contract to build two jack-up drilling rigs with three options of 1+1+1 with Landmark Drilling on March 26.
These jack-up rigs are said to cost around $220m per rig and the rigs will be able to operate in water depths of up to 400 feet and drill to depths of 35,000 feet.
The rigs are capable of operating in the North Sea and the firm two units are said to be built at Jiangsu Haixin Shipping Heavy Industries (JSHX Ship) which CMIH acquired in December 2012.
Meanwhile, JSHX Ship is an offshore-specialized shipyard, having a capability to build and repair offshore vessels/facilities, including semi-submersible drilling platforms, drillships, FPSOs, FSOs and large deep-sea offshore vessels (pipe laying vessel, etc.,), along with jack-up rigs.
