Hyundai Mipo Dockyard of Korea has announced through a regulatory filing on March 25 that it won a contract to construct four PCTCs worth of KRW 314.8bn ($282m) from a shipowner in the Middle East.
A contract term for the four PCTCs is from March 22, 2013, to August 31, 2015, with a contract value to be 7.5% of Hyundai Mipo’s revenue in 2011.
Sources said that shipowner is Ray Shipping of Israel, with capacity of 7,500-ceu.
Meanwhile, Hyundai Mipo is reported to have won new orders for 21 product carriers and one bulker, year-to-date, which has been expanded up to a total of 26 ships worth $970m, including the newly contracted PCTCs.
