Energy major Royal Dutch Shell is reportedly in talks with European shipowners to exercise options to build further 20 MR products tankers at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard in Korea.
The options are now held by Sinokor Merchant Marine which had placed orders for 20 MR PCs in total at the same yard in “Project Silver” with Shell.
Industry sources say the official signing of the further 20-ship orders could be sealed as early as the end of next month.
They add that the optional MR slots registered for Sinokor may be transferred to another owner.
