Shandong Penglai-based Jinglu Shipyard has sold a pair of Panamax bulk carrier to Greek owner Laskaridis. The 75,000dwt bulkers were transacted at a price of $21.5m apiece and are scheduled to be delivered by this March.
As early as in 2007, Laskaridis was reported to have ordered a series of Panamax bulkers at Jinglu Shipyard, which were finally canceled.
A shipbroker from UK said the new order from Laskaridis has been place with good timing - current newbuilding price has been much lower than that in 2007
