Jiangsu Tops Ship Export
In terms of ship exports, China's Jiangsu province is said to have ranked in the largest volume among 30 provinces (cities and counties are also included) of China in 2012.
According to data from China Water Transport, Jiangsu province exported vessels worth a total of $9.234bn, down by 12% year-on-year, and this represents 23.8% of a total as taking the first place. Following are Zhejiang province with $6.145bn, accounting for 15.8% (6.8% year-on-year decrease) and Liaoning province as the third place with $5.353bn, 13.8% (1.9 year-on-year drop).
In 2012, 10 provinces of China are reported to have exported more than $1bn worth of vessels and of which, Tianjin is said to show the biggest growth in the amount of exports with a 297.9% increase to be a total of $1.19bn (3.1% of share) while Shandong province showed the largest drop, exporting $2.405bn worth of vessels (6.2%), down by 3% against the previous year.
