Chinese ship victim of Brazil port protests

Santos: The Chinese vessel  Zhen Hua 10 was occupied by striking Brazilian workers at the port of Santos early on Monday in a protest against the government's plan to modernize Brazil's ports, according to wire reports.

The ship has in its cargo, cranes that will be deployed at the private container terminal Embrapor,owned by local conglomerate Odebrecht,trading company Coimex and DP World.

The workers reportedly occupied the vessel to stop it from unloading the equipment as part of a protest against government measures to modernize the ports which they say will cut wages and legal safeguards
