On February 20, COSCO (Guangdong) Shipyard successfully signed a newbuilding contract for the construction of a a semi-submersible drilling rig supporting vessel from Singapore company Energy Drilling.
It is estimated that the new contract value is about $195.0m- $205.0m, including another optional unit. The firm order for “EDrill-3” is expected to be delivered in June 2015, which is designed by GustoMSC under its OCE two self-erecting, tender assist drilling rigs – EDrill-1 and EDrill-2AN class series.
The previously ordered self-erecting, tender assist drilling rigs – EDrill-1 and EDrill-2 are currently under construction at COSCO (Guangdong) and will be delivered by the middle of 2014.
