Samsung Heavy Industries has inked its eighth drillship order this year.
The South Korean shipbuilder announced in a regulatory filing today that it has won an order for ultra deepwater drillship for $608m from Greek shipowner Ocean Rig.
The drillship is 448 meters long, 42 meters wide and 19 meters high.
It will be built to the same design as Samsung's existing model.
Delivery is set for November 2013.
With the latest deal, Samsung has grabbed eight firm drillship orders so far this year while Ocean Rig has penned three drillships at the yard.
