Sinopacific Snatches Four LNG Carriers

China-based Qidong Dajiang Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Sinopacific, won a new order for the construction of four 30,000m3 LNG carriers from French owner Jaccar Holdoings. The new vessels are slack for delivery in 2015, however, no further details of price and specifications are disclosed.
According to Clarkson, Jaccar also ordered another 13 30,000 m3 which are currently under construction and delivered during 2013 and 2015 at Sinopacific previously.
In August 2010, Jaccar has signed a newbuilding contracnt for eight 12,000 m3 semi-pressurized LEG carriers with the shipyard. Later on March 23th 2012, Sinopacific christened the world’s first 5,000 m3 full-pressurized conjoined dual-tank LPG carrier.
