Xiamen Shipbuilding Industry successfully secured a new order for three Panamax PCTCs with Norwegian shipping car carrier owner Hoegh Autoliners. Besides, more optional units are expected to take effect in future.
The new vessels are said to have a transport capacity of 8,500 cars and are scheduled for delivery in 2015. No information of detailed price and specifications were disclosed.
It is reported that Xiamen Shipbuilding has delivered four PCTCs to Hoegh Autoliners in 2010 and 2011. As one of the leading car carrier owner globally, Hoegh Autoliners currently owns a fleet of 70 PCTC.
