Scrap prices in China slightly rose in December 2012.
Scrap prices of 15,000-25,000 ldt tanker, 6,000-10,000 ldt PC, 7,000-12,000 ldt bulker increased by 4.1%, 3.8% and 4.2% on the previous month to $380.75/ldt, $373.65/ldt and $369.6/ldt, respectively, according to China Water Transport.
Purchased scrap vessels by Chinese ship breakers in China are totalling 440,000DWT, while they recycled 900,000DWT old vessels.
